Thomas assists industrial, manufacturing and service companies, including family offices, in their investment and divestment undertakings and in the legal handling of related transactions. He advises businesses on corporate and commercial law matters. In addition, Thomas has acted in numerous cases as counsel to parties in international art transactions.
As a balance to his advisory services, Thomas represents his clients in national and international disputes before state courts and domestic and international arbitral tribunals and takes on complex white-collar crime cases as a criminal defence lawyer.
Thomas graduated from the Law School of the University of Basel (Lic.iur. 1982). He was admitted to the Basel bar in 1985 and worked as legal adviser in a Basel family office and as an associate in a leading Zurich law firm. He was subsequently a partner for many years at the predecessor firm of today’s Klein, which he founded together with his partners back in 2008.
